You’ll never meet a nicer guy! Santana is such a gem and will make someone a partner of a lifetime.

2010 included Santana being developed mostly by a a level 3 Parelli grad. His finesse riding really took off as you will see by some video clips. Santana is pretty much to the end of level 3 and has even more experience out on trails. Santana's gates are exceptional and lovely to ride. Everyoone who rides him falls in love with his sweet and responsive nature.

Santana came to Cardinal Ranch in the Spring of 2009. He was recruited for his combination of temperament, versatility, and of course his good looks! He went straight into the Cardinal Ranch Horse Development Program. This gelding’s confidence grew in leaps and bounds. He is known around the ranch for being a real gentlemen and is a favourite among the Cardinal Ranch team.

2009 included lots of time and diversity. Santana was in the series of Level 3 Clinics with Don Halladay, and participated in an ‘Intro. To Cutting’ Clinic in the fall. He was even chosen for the legendary horseman, Jack Brainard, to ride during an Advanced Horsemanship Clinic in August. Add to this clinic time lots of trail riding, cattle drives and just hanging out with students around the ranch and it is no wonder he is such a well rounded character.

You may notice in the photos below that Santana is being ridden in a rope hackamore. We start most of our horses this way, but he soon progressed to a bridle.

As far as ‘horseanality’ goes, Santana started out as a Right Brained Introvert. His confidence has turned into lots of left brained and extroverted behavior as well as a healthy play drive. Santana has a medium+ spirit level and has a little more go than whoa. He’s a dream to play with and ride.
