Introducing extra-ordinary horses... to extra-ordinary people

'Phoenix'SOLD

QH/TB/Arab. 15.2 hh. 2004 gelding.

A wonderful combination of grace, beauty, and brains!

It is a special thing to have a horse to be both extremely sweet and extremely smart. He is a great example of one of our well adjusted, mountain raised youngsters that has the whole package. Pheonix has a light, graceful way of moving that lends itself well to doing a little of everything. Dressage movements, reining maneuvers, lead changes, and jumping all seem to be pretty natural for this horse. He is very sensitive but also very relaxed. Developing him through the Parelli Program and especially a start with Don Halladay, has never given him any reason to worry about much. His confidence and playdrive will continue to soar as he cruises through Level 3.

In the spring of 2007, when Pheonix was turning 3 years old, he was started by our very own Parelli Professional, Don Halladay. It was really something to see Don progress with Pheonix. Accept the human, accept the saddle, and on the third day they hit the mountain trails with amazing confidence. After this, Pheonix was partnered up with one of our students studying Level 3 of the Parelli Program. To put it lightly, Pheonix stole her heart. ‘if I could only find a boyfriend as great as this horse’, I think were her words.
Pheonix had a laidback summer playing his way through Level 2, trail riding, and pushing a few cows in the Raush Valley. In the fall he joined in on some Level 2/3 clinics with Don Halladay. Don was happy to see Pheonix still doing great.

Background: Do you remember his sire, Sweet Legacy? Both Sweet Legacy and his sister, Sweet Destiny sold for over $30,000 each. We are seeing more and more of his sire’s attributes as Pheonix matures. He has always had Legacy’s easy going temperament, but now we are seeing more of his beauty and athletic ability coming through. Pheonix’s dam was a mare with worldclass bloodlines as well. Her sire was the famous Arabian stallion, ‘Firesteak’. He is now deceased but years ago his breeding fee of $2,500 was very substantial.

If Pheonix is not sold by May be will be going into the Level 3 Development Program. He will then be offered for sale at the end of the Program in Sept, hopefully with his Level 3 assessement under his belt.

Dante gets the prize for jumping in her car to beat the snow the morning after our phone conversation about Pheonix. Dante, you're a woman who knows what she wants and goes for it. Congrats on your new partner.
