A Horse Development emphasis with focus on learning from a variety of different horses, in a variety of settings. This is the start of taking what you have learned and offering it to the horse, and still letting your horse be the teacher.

Use this time to focus on achieving Level 4, even getting the support you need to understand lead changes in every savvy!If you like, there may be an opportunity to do your mandatory instructing hours at Cardinal Ranch.Gain experience with lots of different horsanalities and students. Exposure to worldclass clinicians such as Canada’s Top Canadian Parelli Instructor, Don Halladay. Martin Black (roping, cow work, developing the bridle horse in the Vaquero tradition) , Eddo Heokstra (Classical Dressage), and others.Opportunities to gain colt starting skills in a safe and savvy environment.
Expanding Savvy into Study of Level 4 and 5 of Parelli Program. Successful Level 4 Auditions are supported.
Includes:
- Horsemanship and Horse Development emphasis.
- Stallion and mare handling for breeding, foal imprinting and early learning.
- Natural hoof trimming.
- Colt starting
- Herd management
- Problem solving
- Cow work, cattle drives.
Study of Level 4/5 on a ‘Levels’ horse designated for your personal progress through the Parelli levels and for use during clinics. Horse will generally be one of the Cardinal Ranch Sale horses and will be ready for development into Level 3 and 4.
Participation in Clinics offered at Cardinal Ranch that is appropriate to student’s level of horsemanship. Lowest possible fees are given to working students.
Students will receive 2 coaching session a week from Devanee or Buddy Cardinal on topics relating to Level 3 and 4.
Student may be asked to do student to student coaching/support sessions, with students just getting started in the Parelli Program.
