'Journey'

Journey, 16.1hh, 2004, CWB gelding.

Class, personality, and as sweet as they come . . . You could say this horse is the 'Prince Charming' of Cardinal Ranch. Journey did not grow up on Cardinal Ranch but had a great first few years. He was raised with lots of care and love and it shows in his gregarious, positive nature.

  Journey is sired by the CWB Stallion 'LUKE' who is then sired by the Hanoverian Stallion 'LUCERO'. His Dam is a CWB who is has both Trakhener and Morgan breeding. Quite an intersting combination that has resulted in a nice balanced horse with both dressage and jumping abilities.

  Devanee started Journey in the spring of his four year old year. It was amazing how quickly he progressed. His natural curiosity lends itself well to all of the Cardinal Ranch stimulation (a nice way of saying it gets pretty crazy around here)! On of our students has developed Journey through Level 2 of the Parelli Program, and Devanee continues to ride him out and about, even crossing rivers as you'll see on the DVD.

Note from Devanee: 'when i rode Journey out on trails for the first time, it confirmed all of the good things I had already experienced with him. He went everywhere I pointed him, just like it was his idea to go exploring. He never spooked once and was confident out on his own. Since Journey wasn't raised in the mountains I wasn't expecting such confidence. He is just a really neat horse.'

Sept 08 will include participation in some Level 2 clinic time with Don Halladay just to add to his experiences this year. Although his first summer under saddle has been mostly about gaining confidence and having fun, Journey is developing nicely in many ways. His gaits are lovely, balanced and getting better every time he is ridden. His uncomplicated nature make him a pleasure to train.
